Job Description


1. Supervise and mentor the work of CADD operators and other junior staff.
2. Perform or supervise the preparation of bill of quantities and technical specifications.
3. Prepare design criteria based on AASHTO standards.
4. Provide technical input and respond to issues and queries involving highway design.
5. Check and review plans prior to issuance.
6. Participate in quality assurance reviews as required.
7. Provide progress reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
8. Conduct highway geometric design for horizontal and vertical alignment.
9. Conduct road reconnaissance surveys and route alignment studies as required.
10. Design standard drawings for cross-sections, guard walls, headwalls, wing walls and other miscellaneous details.
11. Maintain control of design drawings, calculations and all associated technical correspondence regarding the design project(s).
12. Any other tasks as assigned by the Team Leader.

Job Specification

 Work Experience:
Minimum of 7 years experience working in highway design.

Skills:
1. Experience with AASHTO MUTCD, or MoPW highway design standards.
2. Experienced working on USAID projects.
3. Knowledge of AutoCAD design software.
4. Experience in the planning, implementation and completion of highway design projects.
