Job Description

INTECON is seeking a full-time Senior Computer System Technologist to join the team in Bagram AFB, Kabul. This position will support the Persistent Surveillance and Dissemination System of System (P2DS2) program.

Responsibilities:

As the Sr. Computer System Technologist you will provide integration, operation, and maintenance support for unclassified and classified networks. The candidate will have experience across multiple knowledge domains.

Primary duties include:

  • Implementation, administration, troubleshooting, and upgrading systems hardware and software configurations.
  • Must ensure total operational and functional compatibility with interfacing/interacting systems, subsystems, equipment, and computer applications. These systems include: Windows Based Servers both Physical and Virtual, Active Directory Domains, Video Surveillance Software, Cisco Switches/Routers, and Video over IP (Multicast and Unicast-based).   • You have a history of showing your ability to learn quickly, being a team player, and have good communication skills.
  • You possess strong troubleshooting skills and have the discipline to work independently or unsupervised when necessary and working within a time critical, physically demanding environment as the subject matter expert (SME) within the given domain but willing to support the team in a variety of tasks as required.
  • Travel within country is required.
  • The individual will also support on the job training of additional Oamp;M personnel, contractors and military personnel.

Requirements

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in applicable discipline and 5 years’ applicable experience, or experience in lieu of degree

Required Certifications:

  • One or more of the following Microsoft Certifications MCITP, MCSA/MCSE 2012, MCSA/MCSE 2016; Cisco CCNA is also preferable.
  • Security+, CISSP and/or CASP certification

Security Clearance Requirement:

  • Must have and be able to maintain a Secret Security Clearance.


Required Experience:

  • Four (4) years systems experience
  • Two (2) years network experience
  • Four (4) years extensive experience with Active Directory, Group Policy and DNS
  • Two (2) years building and deploying Windows based products such as Windows Server 2012 R2 / Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 in a domain environment
  • Meet medical and physical requirements to be deployed overseas
  • Willing to travel in-country via military air and land transport and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Willing to work a shift schedule

Other requirements:

  • The candidate will have experience across multiple knowledge domains.
  • Must be a U. S. Citizen with a valid U. S. Passport.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with network security scanning and patch management tools such as McAfee HBSS, WSUS, SCCM and ACAS/Nessus
  • Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Experience with Network Management tools such as SolarWinds
  • Experience with integration and implementation of significant GUI-oriented software products
  • Knowledge of the OSI model and networking infrastructure requirements
  • Knowledge and experience of various video codec to include MPEG2, MPEG4, H.264 and VC1
  • Working knowledge of cabling to include termination of Cat5/Cat6, single and multi-mode fiber and co-ax cable
  • Experience working on US government computer systems and interfacing with military customers
